Düğün DavetTürkçeDüğün Davet — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 October 2026
Düğün Davet (“the app”) was built so that people preparing a wedding, engagement or similar event can keep track of guests, expenses, payments and to-dos together. We care about your privacy. This page explains in plain language what information is kept where.
In short
- The information you enter is stored on your device and in your own iCloud account.
- As the developer, we do not collect, see or store your guests, expenses, chat messages or anything else you enter in the app. We don’t run our own servers.
- To measure whether our ads work, we use ad-measurement tools from Apple Ads and Meta. They receive only a few app events (e.g. “first event created”) and the purchase amount; your guests, expenses, messages, your name and the contents of your events are never sent. The advertising identifier is sent only if you allow it (see “Ad measurement” below).
- We don’t sell your personal data. Apart from Apple (iCloud and the App Store), the only services that receive any data are the ad-measurement services described below.
- No card numbers are asked for or stored. Cards are saved only under a nickname you choose (like “My salary card”).
- Contacts permission is asked, but your contacts never leave your phone. When you tap “Add from contacts”, your iPhone asks for contacts permission; your contacts are read on your device, inside the app, only so you can search and pick people. Your contacts are not sent to any server; only the name and one phone number of the people you pick are added to the event. If you decline, you can add guests by hand.
What information do you enter?
While using the app, you enter:
- Your display name (shown as “added by” on records)
- Event details (name, type, date, venue)
- Your guests’ names, phone numbers (optional), notes and attendance status
- Expenses, amounts, payment plans, installments and card nicknames; optionally who gets paid (name, phone number) and their bank details (IBAN, account holder)
- To-dos, reminders and chat messages
- Optionally a cover photo for the event (one photo you choose in the photo picker; the app does not see the rest of your photo library) and the venue’s Google Maps link
Contacts permission and adding guests from contacts
The first time you tap “Add from contacts”, your iPhone asks whether the app may access your contacts. If you allow it, the app reads your contacts only on your device and shows them as a searchable list so you can find and pick people. Your contacts as a whole are not sent anywhere, are not written to iCloud and never reach the developer. Only the name and one phone number of the people you pick and add are saved as guest information on your device and in your iCloud account. If you decline, or later turn the permission off in your iPhone’s Settings, the app keeps working and you add guests by typing them in. If you share an event, the people who join can see the guests (including phone numbers). A phone number is used only when you tap “Call” or “Send message”.
WhatsApp invitations and location link
When you tap “Send invitation via WhatsApp”, the invitation message (the text you wrote, with the venue’s Google Maps link if you added one) and that guest’s phone number are handed to WhatsApp only when you pick that guest and send; you send the message yourself in WhatsApp. From that point on, WhatsApp’s own privacy policy applies. This information is not sent anywhere else. The location link is just a web address you paste in; the app does not read your location (GPS).
Chat
Under every guest group, expense and to-do there is a chat where the people with access to the event can write to each other. Like the rest of the event, messages are stored on your device and in your own iCloud account; if you shared the event, only the people who joined it with the link and passcode can see them. Messages are not public, do not reach the developer unless you report one (see below), and are never sent for ad measurement.
You can flag an inappropriate message with Report and hide that person with Block (blocking applies on your device, for that event). Report opens a pre-filled e-mail to app@afkworks.com containing the message text, its author’s display name, the event name, the date and a message ID; it is sent only if you send it yourself. The author of a message or the event owner can delete it, and the owner can also stop sharing.
Widgets and Siri
The Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets and the Siri shortcuts show a short summary, such as the days left until your event, how many guests are coming and the amount due this month. This summary is kept only on your device, in a folder shared between the app and its widget. On the Lock Screen, amounts can be hidden depending on your settings. Siri asks you to unlock your phone before reading the summary.
Where is information stored?
- On your device: All information is first kept in the app’s database on your device.
- In iCloud: If iCloud is on, the information is stored in your own account through Apple’s iCloud service and synced with your other devices. This data is subject to Apple’s privacy policy, and the developer has no access to it.
- With the people you share with: When you share an event, the people who open the share link and join can see and edit that event’s information. You can stop sharing at any time.
- Sharing passcode: A 4-digit passcode you choose is added to the share link. The passcode is stored in iCloud together with the event; the app doesn’t show the event to anyone who doesn’t enter the correct passcode. Share the link only with people you trust.
- Archive: An event with the full version (every shared event has it) moves to the archive 90 days after its date; the information stays readable but can no longer be changed.
Purchases
Full-version purchases (event credits) are made through Apple (the App Store). Your payment details are processed by Apple; the developer never sees them. The app only writes the purchase record’s ID (transaction number) to the event record, in order to calculate your remaining credits.
Ad measurement (Apple Ads, Meta)
We promote the app with ads. To understand which ads work, these measurement tools are used:
- Apple Ads (AdServices): Finds out, through Apple’s own system and without sharing personal data, whether the app was installed from an Apple Ads ad. No permission is needed; the result is stored only on your device.
- Meta (Facebook, Instagram): In builds where the measurement IDs are set, the following events are sent. In builds without these IDs (for example test builds), nothing is sent:
- the app’s first launch,
- entering your name at first launch (your name is not sent, only “registration completed”),
- creating your first event,
- opening the purchase screen (for example by tapping “Share”),
- a purchase: the package bought, the amount paid and the currency (from the App Store).
Never sent: guest names and phone numbers, expenses and their amounts, payments, to-dos, chat messages, your e-mail address, your display name and the contents of your events are never sent.
Advertising identifier and permission: After you create your first event, permission is requested through iPhone’s “App Tracking Transparency” prompt. If you don’t allow it, no feature of the app is restricted.
- If you allow it: The events above go to Meta. Along with the events, your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA) and basic device information collected by the measurement libraries (device model, iOS version, language, IP address, a random ID the library generates on your device) are sent too, and may be matched with Meta’s own data to measure ads.
- If you don’t allow it: The advertising identifier is not sent anywhere. Meta receives the events above without the advertising identifier, through Meta’s limited measurement that works without permission. Along with these events, a random app ID generated on your device by the Meta library and basic device information (device model, iOS version, language) are sent; as with any internet connection, your IP address also reaches Meta’s servers. According to Meta, events from users who don’t give permission are used for aggregated ad measurement; install measurement is done with Apple’s privacy-preserving method (SKAdNetwork).
- The Meta libraries may also send crash reports to fix their own bugs; these reports don’t contain any information you entered in the app.
Withdrawing your permission: On your iPhone, you can turn off permission for “Düğün Davet” at any time under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Each company processes this data under its own privacy policy: Meta privacy policy.
Anonymous usage statistics (TelemetryDeck)
To improve the app we count anonymously which features are used. For this we use TelemetryDeck, based in Germany. Only these are sent: events such as the app being opened, the first event being created, the purchase screen being opened, a purchase (product and amount), a share link being created or failing and someone joining through a link; the app version, iOS version, device model and language. The device identifier is irreversibly hashed before it is sent. Your name, e-mail, advertising identifier and nothing you enter in the app (guests, expenses, messages) is ever sent. This counting does not identify you, does not track you and needs no permission prompt. Data is processed in the European Union: TelemetryDeck privacy policy.
Notifications
Reminders are set up on your device as local notifications. Notification content is not sent to any server.
Deleting your data
- You can delete a record, an expense or an event inside the app. Deleting an event deletes everything in it.
- Deleting the app removes the data on your device. You can delete the data in iCloud on your iPhone under Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage.
Data controller
The app’s developer and the data controller for ad-measurement data: Furkan Karaca (AFKWorks), e-mail: app@afkworks.com.
The information you enter in the app (guests, expenses, chat messages…) stays only on your device and in your own iCloud account; the developer cannot access or process it. The only exception is a chat message you choose to send us with Report; we use that e-mail only to review the report. You are the controller of this information; iCloud storage is subject to Apple’s terms of service and privacy policy.
What we process and on which legal basis
| Information | Purpose | Legal basis (KVKK Art. 5 / GDPR Art. 6) | Shared with |
|---|---|---|---|
| App events (first launch, registration completed, first event, purchase screen opened) and the purchase amount | Measuring whether our ads work | Legitimate interest (KVKK Art. 5(2)(f), GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) | Meta |
| Anonymous usage events and app/device version (TelemetryDeck) | Improving the app | Legitimate interest (KVKK Art. 5(2)(f), GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) | TelemetryDeck (EU) |
| Advertising identifier (IDFA) | Matching ad measurement to campaigns | Explicit consent (iPhone’s tracking permission prompt; you can withdraw it at any time) | Meta |
| Apple Ads install information | Finding out whether the app was installed from an Apple Ads ad | Legitimate interest; contains no personal data | No one; the result stays on your device |
| Purchase record ID (transaction number) | Calculating your remaining full-version credits | Performance of a contract (KVKK Art. 5(2)(c), GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) | No one; stored in the event record (device + iCloud) |
| Report e-mail (message text, author’s display name, event name, date, message ID and the address you send it from) | Reviewing a report of inappropriate content | Legitimate interest (KVKK Art. 5(2)(f), GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) | No one; it reaches us only if you send it |
International transfers
Meta’s servers may be located outside Türkiye and the European Union (mainly in the US). Ad-measurement events and, if you allowed it, the advertising identifier are therefore transferred abroad. These transfers rely on Meta’s own commitments and on standard contractual clauses; for details, see the privacy policy links above. If you don’t allow tracking, the advertising identifier is never transferred. Your iCloud data is stored in data centers chosen by Apple (Apple privacy policy).
Retention periods
- Information on your device and in iCloud: until you delete it or remove the app or its iCloud data. Deleting an event deletes everything in it (guests, expenses, payments, to-dos, chat messages and any receipt photos added in older versions).
- In an event you shared, the copy on participants’ devices: removed when you stop sharing or delete the event.
- Ad-measurement events: kept according to the retention periods in Meta’s policies.
- The Apple Ads result and the purchase transaction number: on your device, until the app is deleted.
- Report e-mails: as long as needed to review the report.
Your rights (KVKK Art. 11 / GDPR Art. 15–22)
You have the following rights regarding your personal data: to learn whether it is processed, to request information about it, to learn whether it is used for its intended purpose, to know the third parties it is transferred to, to request its correction and deletion, to object to processing, to data portability (GDPR) and to withdraw your consent. Because the information you enter in the app is on your device and in your iCloud, you can view, correct and delete it yourself directly. You can send requests about ad measurement to app@afkworks.com; we reply within 30 days at the latest. You can also send requests through Meta’s own channels for the data processed there. You also have the right to complain to the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK) in Türkiye, or to the data protection authority of your country in the European Union.
Security
Your information is protected by your iPhone’s own encryption and travels to iCloud over Apple’s encrypted connection. Only people who receive the link and know the 4-digit passcode can enter a shared event; you can change the passcode in the event settings or stop sharing. Information such as card numbers, e-mail addresses or passwords is never asked for.
Children
The app is not directed at children. The developer has no servers of its own and does not collect personal information from anyone, including children; ad measurement works within the limits described above.
Changes
If this policy changes, the current version will be published on this page and the date at the top will be updated.
